- Foster teamwork and sportsmanship through team-building activities
- Engage swimmers online through social media (as you can)
- Brainstorm weekly fun day games and activities at season start
- Lead/participate in Fun Day games and activities (as needed)
- Pass out ribbons to swimmers
- Lead the beginner program
- Develop, document and maintain the program
- Execute lessons appropriate to the beginner’s skill level
- Assess and place swimmers at season start
- Develop lesson schedule and communicate to parents
- Perform all training in cooperation with the Lead Coach
- Be technically adept at all swim strokes, techniques and rules
- Help prepare the season program (strength training, endurance and technique)
- Provide, specific, targeted technical training to swimmers
- Keep a training notebook to monitor swimmer technical progress
- Provide feedback to swimmers as needed
- Assist swimmers at swim meets
- Assist and monitor swimmers at all meets
- Provide input to meet lineup
- Cheer and motivate swimmers
- Be available at starting blocks to cheer/encourage swimmers
- Setup all meet equipment (lane lines, flags, etc) and test pool levels
- Help build training program binder
- Note training exercise and best practices for future reference
- Patti Wilder (PW) county meet preparation
- Help swimmers determine entries
- Plan for and lead PW training sessions (as needed)
- Attend PW sessions to coach and support swimmers
- Assist with team party preparation
- Attend and prepare for team party
- Help determine awards and recognition
- Recognize swimmers at party
- Perform any other tasks and activities as required
